Bounty On Sanjay Leela Bhansali By BJP Leader

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Hosangabad Municipal Corporation in Madhya Pradesh has offered a reward of Rs 10,000 to anybody who slaps filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, for allegedly “distorting facts” of Rani Padmini in his upcoming film Padmavati

Akhilesh Khandelwal, who has over 10,000 followers on Facebook, took to social media and posted a long status in Hindi where he claims to support his arguments with facts.

Khandelwal, in his post, details the punishment meted out to those who ‘distort facts’. He writes, “People like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was  punished for trying to make a film on this historic fact. He got his punishment and he will continue getting it if he goes on with it,” he writes.

Khandelwal reportedly told the media that he has no regret for announcing a reward for slapping the Bollywood director. “They (such film personalities) are trying to distort our history to show us in poor light in public. We can no more remain silent. We consider it our responsibility to rein in such forces,” he told DC.

However, taking note of this post, the opposition Congress has demanded action against the BJP leader for his “provocative” status and for attempting to instigate an attack. “The saffron leaders have taken up the role of moral police,” said a Congress spokesman.

This bounty comes soon after the Bollywood filmmaker was slapped on the face and his set vandalised during the shoot of Padmavati in Jaipur last week. He was roughed up by a group called Rajput Karni Sena, apparently for harming their sentiments and distorting facts of their history featuring Rani Padmini and Allauddin Khilji.

Meanwhile, SLB insists that he is fine and has halted the film’s shoot due to the safety of his crew, before adding that the film does not contain any intimate scenes.
