Fresh from the success of his latest cop-drama – Kuttram 23, actor Arun Vijay is all set to sign his next project. The actor may be roped in for Meagamann director Magizh Thirumeni’s next movie.
Thadaiyara Thaakka’s story – and its title – travelled with Magilzh for years. Kasthuri Raja shot for two weeks, but he was not happy with the output.
The 37-year-old actor entered the industry almost eight years ago with director Magizh Thirumeni’s film Mundinam Parthiney in 2010.But the symbolism or the metaphors that were included in the film was a surprise element for the actors too because the director does not have to discuss those things with us.

Arun Vijay, who features in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, resurfaces with Thadam – an action drama that sees him reuniting with his Thadaiyara Thaakka director Magizh Thirumeni.
Magizh Thirumeni’s Thadam teaser is out, giving us a peak into his upcoming action thriller featuring Arun Vijay as a cop, a role similar to that of his last release Kuttram 23. The teaser opens to a video of people narrating the traits of a particular killer who likes to leave his imprint behind, just so he could tease the police.
Magizh Thirumeni has an eye for slick execution and shows maturity with his deft handling of scripts. Both his subjects, Thadaiyara Thakka and Meaghamann, are fitting mass-hero subjects and with all due respect to Arun Vijay and Arya, who have undoubtedly given their best, have every chance to get elevated to a different level when performed by a mass hero with commanding screen presence.
This is totally a different character for Arya and he has pulled it off with ease. Hansika appears for a short time, but has delivered her best. Ashutosh Rana as a villain fits the bill perfectly. Magizh Thirumeni’s screenplay has worked really well and keeps the audiences engrossed from the start. He has not spoiled the movie with unrealistic stunts and punch dialogues. Thaman’s background music compliments the theme of the movie and keeps the crowd engaged in the film. Camera work by Sathish Kumar is excellent, contributing to the seriousness of the film. Sleek cuts by editor N.B. Srikanth keeps up the pace of the film.
Imman has composed music and the flick is produced by Madan of Escape Artist Motion Picture.Directed by Prabhu Solomon, Kayal has Chandran and Anandhi playing the lead. This year’s Christmas releases – Meagamann and Kayal – have been censored. While Kayal has been awarded U, Meagamann has got U/A.Magizh Thirumeni of Thadaiyara Thaakka fame directs Meagamann.
Meagamann’s director Magizh Thirumeni was all praise for his hero Arya and revealed a “secret” about him at a recent press meet. Arya had to undergo a minor surgery in his knee as the movie was progressing. “Arya resumed work while he was recovering. And on the day he came back to work, he had to kneel for a long time to shoot a particular scene. We were all worried that his knee might hurt. But Arya showed no apprehensions. This dedication and his love for the craft makes Arya special,” noted Magizh.
Arya starrer Meagamann is getting ready for a release soon. The film was wrapped up last month and has been in post production for a while now. The soundtrack of the film was launched recently and has evoked good response from the audience. The makers are working towards releasing the trailer soon. The first look teaser for Arya’s Meagamann was released recently. Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, the film stars Hansika Motwani in the lead and has been shot in various locations across India. With music by S Thaman and cinematography by SR Sathish Kumar, the movie is in the final leg of shooting. The climax scene has already been filmed and only a few song sequences are left to be canned. Post production work is all set to begin soon, following which the film will be released by the makers, Nemichand Jhabak Productions.
The Arya – Hansika starrer, Maegamann, is nearing completion. About seventy percent of the movie is over, we hear, with only some songs, and a few “important scenes” left to be shot.
