In Pictures: The Many Iconic Roles Of Superstar Sridevi

Unbeknownst to many, Sridevi forayed into cinema as a young child in 1969. In the Tamil devotional film Thunaivan, she played Lord Murugan alongside stalwarts like Sowkar Janaki, AVM Rajan, Nagesh and others. She went on to play a boy again in Naadu that same year, as actor TK Bagavathy’s cherubic son.

And while she reprised her role as Lord Murugan in Aathi Parasakthi two years later, Sridevi, at the age of 13, made her proper debut as an adult in one of K Balachander’s most memorable film – Moondru Mudichu. She played the feisty Selvi, who exacts revenge on Rajinikanth’s Prasath.
