The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), an umbrella body of over 32 film industry unions, on Tuesday announced in a press release that they have issued a non-cooperative directive against actor Gauahar Khan for two months for violating quarantine rules after testing positive for Covid-19. This comes a day after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday filed a First Information Report (FIR) against her for the same.

The FWICE’s statement advised members of the “affiliated craft to distance themselves from being associated with Ms Gauahar Khan for the next two months until a fresh directive is issued by the FWICE”.

As per the statement, the actor had “endangered the lives of the entire crew members” who were working with her on the shoot.

On Monday, BMC announced on Twitter that it had filed an FIR against an actor for violating Covid-19 protocols after testing positive.

“BMC has filed an FIR against a Bollywood actor for non-compliance to Covid-19 guidelines on testing positive.” While the civic body did not mention the actor’s name, DCP Chaitanya S confirmed to Silverscreen India that actor in question was Khan.

Talking to Silverscreen India, Chaitanya said, “An official of the BMC registered an FIR against Gauahar Khan saying that she tested positive for Covid-19 but instead of remaining in quarantine she went out for film shooting. The case is under investigation right now.”
