Actor Gaurav Dixit Goes Missing After Drug Bust at His Home

Gaurav Dixit, the Hindi film and television actor, escaped his house in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala area after he spotted officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on their way to raid his house on Friday night, a report in Mid-Day stated.

Th report said that the NCB had received a ip-off from the recently-arrested actor, Ajaz Khan, and other peddlers.

Dixit fled the spot upon seeing the NCB officials near his residence, the report said. Along with the actor, his roommate, a foreign national, is also on the run.

Khan, who was arrested on March 31 for his alleged association with the Batata Gang, during his interrogation revealed names of some actors who consume drugs, the report stated. The peddlers who were arrested by the NCB earlier also verified these names.

The NCB is currently on the lookout for Dixit after drugs like Mephedrone, MDMA, and Charas (hashish) were retrieved from his flat, along with packaging material, the report mentioned.

Dixit has appeared in films like Happy Bhaag Jayegi, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, Dahek: A Restless Mind, The Magic of Cinema, and Ganga Ke Paar Saiyan Hamar. He has appeared in TV shows like Seeta Aur Geeta as well.

Khan’s arrest came in the wake of NCB nabbing Shadab Batata, son of Farooq Batata, one of Mumbai’s biggest drug peddlers. According to Mumbai Mirror, drugs worth Rs 2 crore were recovered from Shadab Batata. The report also mentioned that Shadab Batata was associated with the drug business for a long time and would supply drugs to Hindi film celebrities.

Khan has been charged under four sections of the NDPS act including 8c, 27A, 28, 29, and 32. According to the recent update, he tested positive for Covid-19 on April 5 and was shifted to a hospital, ANI reported.

The NCB started its massive drug probe after Hindi actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, 2020, in Mumbai.
