Armie Hammer Contacted by Police Over “Suggestive Video”

Armie Hammer, the American actor most popular for playing the role of Oliver in Call Me By Your Name and the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, was recently contacted by the Cayman Islands police regarding a video he shared on his private Instagram account last week showing a woman “in a provocative position” on his bed, whom he referred to as ‘Miss Cayman’  in the caption.

According to a statement from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), the authorities “investigated the matter and spoke” to the actor. The matter is now closed, the statement says.

The authorities say, “On January 15, 2021, the RCIPS received an allegation of misuse of ICT in relation to a suggestive video which had been posted on social media. ” The “suggestive video” in question shows “an unidentified woman clad in strappy black lingerie on all fours on a bed with her back facing the camera” DailyMail reported.

Earlier, Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee had asked him to refrain from referencing Miss Cayman, the pageant winner, on social media. Soon after Hammer released an audio statement to Cayman Compass saying, “I am genuinely sorry for any confusion my foolish attempt at humour may have caused. My deep sympathies to Miss Cayman, who I don’t know, and to the entire organization, as I had no intentions of implying she was actually Miss Cayman.”

The involvement of authorities comes in the wake of allegations made on the actor earlier this month by several women who shared screenshots of messages they stated he had sent them on social media talking about “graphic sexual fantasies ranging from cannibalism to rape,” US Weekly reported.

It was after this that rumours regarding him exiting Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming film, Shotgun Wedding, surfaced. The 34-year-old actor spoke to TMZ and said, “I’m not responding to these bulls—t claims, but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.”

The latest allegation against Hammer has come from his ex-girlfriend Paige Lorezne who gave an interview to DailyMailTV and said that her time with him was “like a real life 50 Shades Of Grey without the love.”

“I had bad bruises all over me when we were together. I was left with marks from him using a paddle. I was his own real life Christian Grey fantasy,” she added.

While Hammer is yet to issue a statement regarding these allegations, his lawyer told Us Weekly in a statement, “These assertions about Mr. Hammer are patently untrue. Any interactions with this person, or any partner of his, were completely consensual in that they were fully discussed, agreed upon, and mutually participatory. The stories being perpetuated in the media are a misguided attempt to present a one-sided narrative with the goal of tarnishing Mr. Hammer’s reputation, and communications from the individuals involved prove that.”
