The native of Kollam was arrested under section 354D (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code and later released on bail.

According to a report in The News Minute, the accused allegedly visited Parvathy’s home twice carrying food parcels. During the first visit, the actor’s family expressed their disinterest, but the stalker continued to cause trouble and even got into an argument with the security.

The report adds that the man has been disturbing the actor for a few years through messages. He then visited Parvathy’s family house in Kozhikode and her flat in Ernakulam against her wishes. Following this, the actor filed a complaint with the police.

It may be noted that in 2019, Parvathy filed a complaint against another stalker who posed as a lawyer and filmmaker named Kishore. A case was filed under the same section 345D of IPC and 1200 of the Kerala Police Act (causing nuisance). The stranger had contacted Parvathy’s brother and father and made false claims that the actor was involved with the mafia in Kochi and said that he wanted to rescue her. However, Parvathy was in the US at that time. When the family stopped responding to his messages, he went to Parvathy’s house in Kozhikode.

In the complaint she filed then, Parvathy noted that the continued harassment had taken a toll on her. She mentioned that stalking is a very harrowing experience and added that the crime not being taken seriously has harmed a lot of women.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, the Kerala State Award-winning actor was last seen in the Tamil film Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum, which premiered on Sony LIV. Parvathy will next be seen in the upcoming Malayalam movie Puzhu alongside Mammootty.
