After media reports quoted Nagarjuna as saying his son Naga Chaitanya’s separation from his wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu was the decision of the latter, which was “accepted” by his son, the veteran actor has taken to social media and dismissed the reports as false.
Using the hashtag #GiveNewsNotRumours, Nagarjuna tweeted on Thursday, “The news in social media and electronic media quoting my statement about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya is completely false and absolute nonsense!” He further requested the media to “refrain from posting rumours as news.”
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha had announced their parting of ways as a couple in October 2021 after four years of marriage. Since then, speculations surrounding their separation, particularly targeting Samantha, have been circulating. This even led to Samantha releasing a statement and filing defamation suits against a few YouTube channels for spreading malicious information about her.
Recently, Naga Chaitanya, during the promotions for his film Bangarraju, had said that the decision to part was taken mutually.
However, their separation is still a matter of discussion with some media reports speculating that Samantha might reunite with Naga Chaitanya since the posts announcing their split were deleted from her social media pages.

Meanwhile, media reports also surfaced stating that Nagarjuna had said that it was Samantha who had initiated the divorce and Naga Chaitanya had “accepted” it though he was worried about his “family’s reputation.”
Nagarjuna was further quoted as saying, “Naga Chaitanya consoled me very much as he thought I would be worried. They both have been together for four years in the marriage but no problem like this came between them. Both were so close and I don’t know how it came down to this decision. They even celebrated 2021’s New Year together. It seems that the problems have arisen after that.”
Dismissing these reports as rumours, Nagarjuna has clarified on social media now that the news is false. His message was also retweeted by Naga Chaitanya. Samantha has not commented so far.
