Even though it was alleged that the RSS-idealogue met with Rajinikanth as a courtesy call to check up on his health, the timing of their meeting has triggered speculations about the actor’s political venture.

The New Indian Express reported that during the meeting, which lasted for 90 minutes, Gurumurthy urged Rajinikanth to rethink his decision to quit politics. It is believed that with the meeting, Rajinikanth’s final call on his political career will be ascertained.

Gurumurthy had earlier announced that Rajinikanth has a bright future in politics and had even urged him to align with the BJP. He had stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political acumen and Rajinikanth’s pull among the masses could work favourably in Tamil Nadu.

On October 29, Rajinikanth clarified the rumours about him planning to quit politics due to his health conditions. In a tweet, Rajinikanth addressed the contents of an allegedly leaked letter to his fans regarding his health conditions, and said that he did not write it. He announced that he would soon issue an announcement regarding his decision over his political career.

The letter, that made its rounds on social media, claimed that the actor was deciding to quit politics due to his kidney condition. According to the letter, doctors have asked him to restrict his movement because of his condition, which could worsen due to the added vulnerability of Covid-19.
