Earlier this week, Sen went to the Khar Police Station to file the complaint against the businessman, Ronak Jatin Vyas, an officer informed Silverscreen India. The Khar Police Station in Mumbai has since filed a First Information Report (FIR) and charged the businessman with fraud and criminal breach of trust.

According to the actor, who also owns Mamlo Film Production, she met Vyas in an Andheri gym back in 2019 and became friends with him.

Once the two became friends, the businessman reportedly approached Sen and offered her 28 to 30% returns if she invested in his new business venture, a police officer told ETimes. Vyas had also given the actor a security cheque for Rs 3.50 crore to build trust, the officer added.

After agreeing to his business proposal, Sen transferred a total of Rs 1 crore to his company between February and July 2019. Later, the actor transferred an additional amount of Rs 3.14 crore after Vyas guaranteed Sen a profit of 40% on her future investments.

However, he failed to provide her with the promised returns within the said time frame, Sen said in her complaint. She further mentioned that whenever she questioned Vyas on the same, he always came up with an excuse.

When the actor once again followed up on the situation, in March 2020, Vyas transferred a sum of Rs 3 lakh to her firm’s bank account but did not pay any more than that. Sen was reportedly “frustrated and disappointed” and tried to encash the security cheque that Vyas had given her, at which time, she discovered that the bank account had been locked.

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Sen filed the police complaint after Vyas began ignoring her phone calls. She realised that she had been duped when she made inquiries and learnt that he never started the company.
