Sidharth Shukla, the television actor, died on Thursday after suffering a massive heart attack in the morning, an official at the Cooper Hospital in Mumbai told PTI. He was 40.
The official added that the actor was brought dead to the hospital.
Shukla, who has won two reality shows, Bigg Boss 13 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7, made his acting debut in a lead role with the 2008 show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na.
In 2014, he made his Hindi film debut in a supporting role in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. The actor became a household name after his stint as the main lead in the popular TV show Balika Vadhu. He also starred in the lead in the web series Broken But Beautiful 3 this year.
Shukla’s last appearance was as a special guest on Bigg Boss OTT and Dance Deewane 3.
The news of his sudden demise has come as a shock to his colleagues.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee took to Twitter to pay tribute. He wrote, “This is So Shocking! Words will fail to describe the shock and sense of loss of his near and dear ones. May he rest in peace.”
Himanshi Khurana, Shukla’s Bigg Boss co-contestant, tweeted, “Oh my god. It’s hard to believe. RIP Sidharth Shukla.”
Comedian and actor Sunil Grover also expressed his shock and grief. “Shocked and sad to know about Sidharth Shukla. Gone too soon. Prayers. Rest in peace,” he wrote.
Actor Nimrat Kaur took to Twitter and wrote: “Heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of late Sidharth Shukla. Terribly shocking and distressing news.”

Koena Mitra, fellow Bigg Boss contestant, reminisced about her time with Shukla and wrote, “We met for just 14 days, we fought a lot and parted ways. Never spoke again. Your sudden demise has taught me unconditional forgiveness! I forgive everyone and seek forgiveness from whoever I may have disappointed.”
Shukla’s post mortem examination has not begun as the police procedures are still going on. No official statement or details regarding his sudden demise have been given to the press yet.
Shukla is survived by his mother and two sisters.
