Silambarasan’s Visit to the Hospital related to a Viral Infection; Actor is Safe & Back Home Now

Following reports of actor Silambarasan being hospitalised in Chennai, Silambarasan’s close friend and actor Mahat Raghavendra tweeted on Saturday evening that the actor is now back home and had been diagnosed with a viral infection.

Silverscreen India reached out to Silambarasan’s father and actor T Rajendar who said that he is now doing fine and his visit to the hospital was ‘not Covid-related’.

In the tweet Mahat wrote, “To all the friends and media checking about  @SilambarasanTR_ Thank you for your love and support! He’s safe and sound, he’s back home and it was just a viral infection! Nothing to worry.”

According to a report by IANS, the actor, who was last shooting for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s directorial Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, developed a temperature on Friday. Following that, he was rushed to the hospital. The source added that it was just a minor infection and that doctors expect Silambarasan to recover shortly. 

Meanwhile, on Friday, the makers of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu released the film’s teaser. The film is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner. Ashwin Kumar serves as the executive producer. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman, who is marking his third collaboration with Silambarasan and Menon after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa in 2010 and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada in 2016. Earlier, when the film was announced in August, executive producer Ashwin told Silverscreen India that the team had started filming on August 6 in Thiruchendur. “It is an action drama film and we plan to also shoot in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vishakapatnam, and Chennai,” he said, adding that there are plans to make this film in Telugu as well.

Silambarasan who was last seen in Maanaadu has a bunch of other projects in the pipeline including Paththu Thala, Maha and Corona Kumar.
