Mammootty’s The Great Father will release on January 27. The film is a thriller and has Mammotty team up with director Haneef Adeni. The project was initially scheduled for a Christmas release, but was reportedly delayed due to post-production issues.

The posters for the film hint at a dark thriller, with Mammotty sporting either a menacing stare or a machine gun in much of the promotional material. The film’s storyline impressed Mammotty so much that he shuffled dates to begin the shoot sooner, according to reports. No doubt it was a surprise to everyone, including the film’s director Haneef Adeni.
Produced by actor Prithviraj, the movie features a number of high-profile Tamil actors in the line-up. Sneha plays Mammootty’s wife, Arya plays the villain, Mia George is a doctor. and Shaam makes his Malayalam debut as police inspector Suryadas.
Gopi Sunder has composed the music for the film.
