Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football player, topped the Instagram Rich List 2021 released by HopperHQ, beating the previous year’s number one, American actor Dwayne Johnson. Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Priyanka Chopra made it to the top 50. They are among 53 Asians to make the list.
HopperHQ is a United Kingdom-based social media management company that has been releasing a list each year of the top celebrities in the world ranked by how much they have earned on the photo and video sharing social media app Instagram. This year’s list includes 395 celebrities.
With over 300 million followers on Instagram, Ronaldo charges $1,604,000 for every promotional post he makes on the platform while Johnson, with 250 million followers, charges $1,523,000 per post.
Among the eight Indians on the list, Kohli made it to number 19 and Chopra was ranked 27. Kohli, with 132 million followers, charges $680,000 for every promotional post, while Chopra, who has 65.1 million followers, charges $403,000 per post.
Other Indians who made it to the Instagram Rich List 2021 include Varun Aditya (ranked 195), a wildlife photographer with 1.5 million followers on the platform who charges $11, 800 for each post. On number 253 is Kriti Khurana, a fashion influencer from New Delhi famous on social media as @thatbohogirl. She has 1.2 million followers and charges $5, 100 for a promotional post.
The next Indian on the list is influencer Aashna Shroff at number 274 with 872 thousand followers, charging $3,600 per post. She is followed by number 291 Santoshi Shetty with 753 thousand followers, charging $ 2,700 for a post.
Also on the list at number 377 is Aashritha Daggubati, daughter of Telugu actor Venkatesh Daggubati. She is a food influencer with 137 thousand followers and charges $400 per promotional post. She is preceded by Juhi Godambe at number 329, a fashion influencer from Mumbai, with 461 thousand followers charging $1,600 for each post on the platform.

Aside from Ronaldo and Johnson, others who made it to the top 10 in the list include American singer and actor Ariana Grande in the third position, followed by American model Kylie Jenner, singer-actor Selena Gomez, model and actor Kim Kardashian, Argentina footballer Lionel Messi, singer songwriter and actor Beyonce Knowles, singer Justin Bieber, and model Kendall Jenner. American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift just missed the top 10 and ended up at the 11th position.
