Director Arun Kumar should be lauded for the way he has made this short film into a wonderful feel good feature film. He needs to be specially appreciated for the way he has chosen the perfect characters for each role and also their introduction in the movie. Vijay Sethupathi is his usually expressive self and impresses yet again. Ishwarya shows that she can pull of rustic characters with ease. The hero of the movie is without doubt, the versatile veteran Jayaprakash. He takes the cake with his performance. Bala evokes a lot of laughter with his performance. Neelima has shone through her role. Justin Prabhakaran’s music has already been well talked about and the BGM is also wonderful. Gokul Benoy’s cinematography and Sreekar Prasad’s editing are major value additions to the movie. The path seems a tad too long and with a few bumps, but the overall journey of Pannaiyarum Padminiyum is a fun ride.
