Debutant director Vinoth has provided something very different from what we are accustomed to Friday after Friday. The premise and treatment is vastly different from anything that we have seen recently. The first frame that actually is a zoom on the television screen, the use of animation to crisply narrate the flashback and the narrative style in the form of episodes are pleasant surprises. The realization that dawns into Natraj is not rushed and takes place gradually. The dialogues deserve special mention and make so much sense. Starting off with a note that the film is inspired by true events and the relatively unknown cast lends a more authentic feel to the proceedings. Definitely not all the songs were required.
