Vallinam does a good job in showing basketball. The moves the actors make, the camera angles and the editing work well together to make the games look real and convincing with the dribbling, passing and shooting all looking good. There are some exciting moments that work, both in early games(particularly in Nakulan’s match-up with his senior) as well as the final tournament. But the final tournament on the whole doesn’t live up to the excitement built up until then. Nakulan’s team progresses too fast through it and the final match, which follows all the rules for the climax in a sports film with an underdog team, a vicious opponent, an inspirational speech and a turnaround, isn’t very exciting since the match-up is too uneven and the turnaround isn’t presented in realistic fashion.
