Anupam Kher Nominated For BAFTA; Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam To Star In Film Based On Uri Attack

Anupam Kher has been nominated for BAFTA (Best Supporting Actor) for his role in the BBC drama The Boy with the Topknot, an adaptation of Satnam Sanghera’s memoir of the same name. The award ceremony will be held on May 13. 

The actor, who has featured in about 500 films, is up against Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty), Brian F. O’Byrne (Little Boy Blue) and Jimmi Simpson – (USS Callister – Black Mirror) for the Best Supporting Actor trophy.

Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam will star in a film based on the September 18 Uri attack last year when 17 Army personnel were killed in a gun fight. The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar. Kaushal will reportedly play an Army commander-in-chief and Yami Gautam, an intelligence officer.
