Studio 18 Productions announced a biopic on late Velupillai Prabhakaran, chief of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a militant organisation that sought to create an independent Tamil state in the north and east of Sri Lanka. The film will be directed by Venkatesh Kumar G and will go on floors from April 2018.

In an interview with Vogue India, Aishwarya Rai confirmed that she has been approached for the remake of the  1967 classic Raat Aur Din for which Nargis won the National Award. 


In Fanney Khan, I’m playing a chapter in the narrative that I believe is intrinsic to the story. I’ve been approached for the remake of Raat Aur Din, which is a great opportunity, and what’s funny is while filming Shabd, Sanju sir (Sanjay Dutt) said he’d have loved for me to play the part, and I was very touched. We’re still working out the details. I’ve also been approached for a remake of Woh Kaun Thi,” she was quoted as saying.
