A documentary on Swachch Bharat has been denied a censor certificate by the CBFC. Thupparivum 2020, a bilingual Hindi – Tamil short documentary shot in Varanasi has been to the CBFC three times, and yet, has not been able to get a certificate.
Dinesh, director of the film, told DC:
“I have sung the song along with popular devotional singer Veeramanidaasan and both of us, along with several children have appeared in the visuals. The album is meant for creating awareness on the ‘clean India’ concept. But the CBFC is denying a certificate stating that it is against the government and will trigger off a controversy.”
An uncut version of the film has been released online.

A woman has accused director Roman Polanski of ‘sexually victimising’ her. The incident happened when the woman was 16 years old in the 1970s.
Identified only as Robin, the woman told a Los Angeles news conference that she had been “sexually victimised” in 1973, when she was 16-years-old.
Reading from a prepared statement, she said she had told a friend about the assault on the day after it happened.

She added: “The reason, with this exception, that I kept it to myself is that I didn’t want my father to do something that might cause him to go to prison for the rest of his life.”
She said she had decided to come forward because she was “infuriated” that a statutory rape case against Polanski could be dropped, after his victim asked a Los Angeles court to end it.
Robin is the third woman to have accused Polanski of rape. The director fled the US forty years ago after admitting to the statutory rape of a thirteen year old named Samantha Geimer.
