Karthikeyan Audio Launch Report

Silverscreen goes to the Karthikeyan audio launch

When PK Srinivasan of Magnus CinePrime first heard the story of Karthikeyan from director Chandoo Mondeti, he tells us that he was enthralled. So enthralled that he just couldn’t contain himself; he simply had to make the movieHis friends urged him to be cautious, but he didn’t really care. “We all have to take risks in our lives; and I’m glad I did. I’m very happy with the response to the trailer and audio and hope the film is received the same way as well,” he said.

Editor Mohan was an intrinsic part of the project. Since the producer was not used to the ways of the Tamil film industry, he took it upon himself to guide PK Srinivasan. “I have been working on this film right from the beginning. I think the movie will speak for itself and draw audiences in.” His son, director Jayam Raja, was also a part of the event. Having turned actor recently, he said he has a “different perspective about things” now. “As a filmmaker, I used to stick with my vision of the product and not entertain many changes. When I started acting in Enna Satham Indha Neram, my view of filmmaking changed. Now, I understand both sides and make the right decision. Also, I’m very happy that the producer of this movie is so proud of the project. I know all about disappointing producers. Especially when your father is one,” he quipped.

Actor Nikhil Siddhartha debuts in Tamil with Karthikeyan and went to great lengths to speak in Tamil. To an audience used to laughing indulgently at a heroine’s attempts at saying ‘Vanakkam’, this was a refreshing treat. His diction was near perfect, something that surprised everyone. It was actress Swathi Reddy who then let us in on the reason behind Nikhil’s flawless linguistic skills. “He’s been reading from a cheat sheet,” she blurted, “Nikhil wrote down the Tamil speech in English and just read it off the paper. Please give me one too, I haven’t prepared anything.” But actor Nikhil firmly refused to help out his co-star which left her with no other option than to mumble a quick thank you and run laughing to her seat.

Karthikeyan‘s music has been composed by Sekhar Chandra and will be released in Tamil and Telugu. The makers are looking at a July release for the movie.
