The audio of Mundasupatti, starring Vishnu Vishal and Nandita, was launched yesterday at Prasad Labs in Chennai. Composer Sean Roldan, riding on a high after the success of Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, has composed folksy tunes with a rustic feel for the film. Speaking at the event, Rolden said that he said that, ” The film is set in the 80’s and in a village, so I tried to compose tunes that justified the setting.” The film, based on a short film by the same name, is directed by debutant Ram Kumar and produced by CV Kumar in association with Fox Star Studios.
Speaking at a press meet after the audio launch, Vishnu Vishal said, “I did not choose the story but the story chose me. I had heard about the short film and loved the concept. A month after I had heard about the short film, I got a call from the producer and readily agreed.” The plot of the film revolves around a fictional village called Mundaasupatti, whose residents are superstitious about photography and wear a mundaasu on their heads.
PV Shankar handles the camera with art direction by Gopi Anand. The lyrics are penned by Muthamizh and editing is by Leo John Paul. Anand Raaj also plays a pivotal role in the the film which the director said would be a “complete entertainer.”
