Avengers Infinity War: A Countdown To The Wait With Desi Thanos and His Rivals

The world was thrown into an ambitious starstruck frenzy when the first trailer of Avengers: Infinity War was released. Till date, it has crossed over 170 million views, and the follow-up teaser, sneak peeks and trailers do make every Marvel enthusiast wait with bated breath for the release of the franchise’s biggest cross-over movie.

Many have seen the trailers infinite times and noticed even the smallest detail about their favourite characters. Now, imagine. What if these characters were abducted by Bollywood and given a desi makeover?

That’s exactly what some creative online meme pages have done, and it can’t really get any better than this. Thanos and his Infinity Stones can actually sit back and watch the fun on screen.

One of the finest to come out is the Sholay mashup of Infinity War, with Amjad Khan’s Gabbar Singh as Josh Brolin’s Thanos and Hema Malini’s Basanti reimagined as Scarlett Johannson’s Black Widow.

The next one to come has crossed over 1.1 million views and is filled with dialogues from some classic Hindi movies, and, at some point, there is a Baahubali voiceover narration too.

We have never really seen a movie in Bollywood with the Khans, the Kapoors and other top actors under one umbrella, except probably in a Karan Johar film. That concern is taken care of with this trailer that features Ra One, Baahubali, Robot, Ghajini and Krish, the Indian answer to DC and Marvel comic characters. This one is also Avengers, but instead of Infinity War, it’s Indian War.

The South is not far behind. This Vadivelu edition of Avengers: Infinity War is a scream, and is sure to leave you in splits.

If there’s a Bollywood version  where the Khans and the Kapoors unite to replace Robert Downey and Chris Evans, this South Indian version features everyone from Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal to Nayantara, Vijay and Ajith.

In Kerala, fans of Malayalam actors and Avengers characters have plugged infamous cult Malayalam characters to the Avengers trailer, with a generous pinch of humour. Thank God for face swapping applications.
