The Easter weekend will see a host of Malayalam movie releases, including Mammootty’s Parole. After all, what’s festive about a festival without a few special releases?
Releasing on March 31, Parole is Mammootty’s next big film after Masterpiece. The actor was last seen in a cameo in Jayasurya’s Captain. Parole is the story of comrade Alex, who is a family man, a Communist rebel and a convict. Parole helmed by Sharath Sandith, will feature Mia George, Suraj Venjaranmoodu and Siddique. Produced by Anthony D Cruz under the banner Anthony D Cruz Entertainment, the script is penned by Ajith Poojappura and the music is composed by Sharath.
Another movie that has created a lot of buzz is Antony Varghese’s, Pepe of Angamaly Diaries fame, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil. The prison-break thriller is directed by Tinu Pappachan and jointly produced by BC Joshi, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Chemban Vinod Jose and popular Malayalam filmmaker B Unnikrishnan. Lijo Jose and Chemban Vinod Jose along with Vinayakan have crucial roles in it.
This comedy entertainer stars Kunchacko Boban in the lead and is directed by Sreejith Vijayan. The movie stars Aditi Ravi, opposite to Boban and Shanthi Krishna also makes a pivotal appearance. The cinematography is by Sreejith himself.
In Kuttanadan Marpappa, Kunchacko Boban will portray the role of a wedding photographer. Dharmajan, Aju Varghese and Innocent also star in it.
Among the comedies releasing this Easter is also Vishnu Unnikrishnan-starrer Vikadakumaran. Directed by Boban Samuel, the movie stars Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Dharmajan Bolgatty & Manasa Radhakrishnan in the lead roles.
Alorukkam is a drama directed by VC Abhilash. The movie star Indrans in the lead role. Alorukkam recounts the plight of a father, who is in search of his son who left home many years back. The film was made last year and won many accolades, including the Kerala State Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Indrans.
