Vadivelu is perhaps the most experienced actor in the box office stakes this week. His Eli, directed by new favourite Yuvaraj Dhayalan, releases alongside the Ganesh Venkatraman-starrer Achcharam, and Baby – a horror from what we can see of the trailer.
Eli is a period comedy, which is code for funny eighties themed outfits and retro songs. Not that the latter is going to be much trouble for music director Vidyasagar, who has been stuck in that particular era for way too long.
This time around, Vadivelu finds himself paired with the Iyengar Veetu Azhage fame Sadha. Last seen in the P Vasu film, Puli Vesham, it is interesting indeed that Sadha decided to make a comeback with a movie titled Eli. Annoying jokes aside, this movie promises to be an interesting one, and hopefully one with none of the belly flashing that Meenakshi Dixit did in Tenali Raman.
