Sudhir Mishra’s Is Raat Ki Subha Nahin is a 1996 thriller set, as the title suggests, in one night. The movie feature’s Tara Deshpande and Nirmal Pandey. The film’s protagonist Aditya (Nirmal) gets involved in a fight with some gangsters and is caught in the midst of a gang war. The film is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
Sudhir spoke about the making of the film on Twitter today, urging people to watch the film if they haven’t. “Really enjoyed making it. In the mid-eighties my brother Sudhanshu slapped a guy who was misbehaving outside the Pune Film Institute gates. Turned out he was a gangster and my brother went through 2 days of hell. That’s the genesis of the film! Watch it if you haven’t,” he said.
The song Chup Tum Raho from the film features a very young R. Madhavan as a singer. The song, in fact, marks the actor’s feature film debut.
