The audio launch of Vaaimai was held yesterday at an event which was attended by actors Pandiyarajan, Powerstar Srinivasan, Aadhav Kannadasan, director Karthik Subbaraj, music director-actor Vijay Antony, producer UTV Dhananjayan, Producer council vice-president Thenappan and the cast of Vaaimai.
Director V Priya of Kanda Naal Mudhal fame received the audio album from AR Murugadoss. Vaaimai director Senthilkumar has previously worked as a close associate of Priya. She, in an emotional speech, attributed a major share of Kanda Naal Mudhal‘s success to Senthilkumar’s efforts.
Director AR Murugadoss, who is now busy shooting for his Hindi film Akira, said that he was very much impressed with the trailer of Vaaimai. ” A trailer should be like this. It should create curiosity among the viewers”, he said.
Almost all the cast and crew members of the film, including actress Poornima Bhagyaraj who plays Prithvi’s mother in the film, said that they signed the film without knowing its full story. They heaped praises on the director, who’d refused to divulge the ‘twists and suspense factors’ of the movie even to the crew members. Director K Bhagyraj, in jest, said that the he did not alter the screenplay of the movie as he did get to hear the whole story.
Music director-turned-actor Vijay Antony said, ” Vaaimai trailer resembles the movie Pulan Visaranai. I would be privileged to say that Senthil is my director as he decided to make a movie with me before 5 years when I was a music director.” He further revealed that he will be doing his next film Thirudan with director Senthilkumar.
