24AM Studios and KJR Studios To Produce ‘SK15’

RD Raja’s 24AM Studios is associating with KJR Studios to produce SK15, Sivakartikeyan’s latest movie. Directed by PS Mithran of Irumbu Thirai fame, SK15 is said to be another cyber-thriller. Earlier this month, it was announced that actor Arjun Sarja will star alongside Sivakartikeyan in the film.

Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose music for SK15, George C Williams will be the cinematographer, and Antony L Ruben, the editor. The female lead, and other cast and crew members are yet to be announced.

KJR Studios, which began in 2017 with Nayanthara’s movie Aramm, is currently producing their second Nayanthara-starrer Airaa, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film, directed by KM Sarjun. Last month, the studio also acquired the theatrical rights to produce Viswasam, starring Ajith and Nayanthara.

In an interview with Silverscreen earlier this month, director Mithran said that SK15 was a much awaited project for him, since he has known Sivakarthikeyan for a long time and has always wanted to work with him. He also said that much like Irumbu Thirai, which was on data privacy and the Digital India initiative, SK15 is a racy thriller with a social message.

Meanwhile, sources suggest that Arjun Sarja, who was accused of sexual harassment in the #MeToo movement, is still on board. Although his name wasn’t mentioned in today’s official tweet by SK15’s team, Mithran had earlier said that he liked working with the actor. “I have worked with Arjun previously and it was a pleasant working experience with him. I have no idea about the allegations and I’m not taking that into consideration to work with him,” he said.

Arjun Sarja was accused of sexual harassment by actor Sruthi Hariharan, who alleged that he made improper advances towards her during the shoot of Vismaya in 2016. She filed a complaint against him at the Cubbon Park police station. Arjun Sarja, however, denied the allegations and filed a Rs 5 crore defamation suit against Sruthi at the Bengaluru City civil court.
