The motion poster and first look of Vijay Sethupathi as Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan from the upcoming biopic 800, was released on Tuesday.
Written and directed by MS Sripathy, the biopic has been titled 800, based on the number of wickets taken by the spinner during his career.
It was announced a few days ago that Sethupathi will play the role of the ace cricketer in his biopic.
The animated motion poster, which is a little over one-minute-long, opens with a cricket ground and then shows a young Muthiah pull off a clean-bowl while playing with other kids. It then goes on to show Muthiah growing up and the hurdles he faced in life- from the time he was playing cricket in his locality to when he became a global cricket phenomenon.
The first look poster of the film shows the actor wearing test whites of the Sri Lankan cricket team and bears a striking resemblance to the bowling legend.
