On October 3, the makers of Sukumar directorial Pushpa announced that the film will hit the screens on December 17. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film will be shot in Malayalam and Telugu, and will also be dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. Meanwhile, the makers of Chiranjeevi’s Acharya, directed by Koratala Siva and co-starring actors Kajal Aggarwal, Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde in prominent roles, have not announced the film’s release date yet. It is produced by Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainments banners.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, the source said, “Acharya will come on either December 16 or 17 and for Pushpa, there is about 60-days of shooting pending. They can release on that day, but it will be very tight for them. Since Acharya is also on the wait, they (Pushpa makers) have decided to postpone the release. The reason is primarily that Allu Arjun and Chiranjeevi belong to the same family and do not want a box office clash.”

The source added that the makers of Pushpa are looking to now release the film either in February or March, in order to not to clash with RRR, and Radhe Shyam both of which are releasing in theatres in January.

Meanwhile, giving an update about other big Telugu films lined up for release, the source said, “Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata which is set for January 13, 2022, might come in March or April, as they want to avoid any more clashes, while Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda, will mostly arrive on November 4 or the second week of November. But we will have Sooryavanshi, Annaatthe, and Hollywood film Eternals for November first week.”
