Actor Aaron Eaton Of ‘Brotherhood’ Fame Dies At 29

Aaron Eaton, who starred in gangster drama Brotherhood this year, died just days after the film was officially released. He was 29-years-old.

Eaton played the character Teardrop in the third installment of actor-turned-director Noel Clarke’s trilogy of films about gang life in London. He also appeared in the 2015 film AWOL – Absent Without Love. 

Eaton’s death was confirmed by the AWOL’s official Twitter account:

“With a heavy heart we say sleep well to our brother Aaron Eaton who has passed on. Aaron played Wolfy in AWOL. RIP.”

Condolences have been pouring ever since the news of his death was announced. About 100 friends gathered in Central Parade in New Addington on Wednesday evening, paying tribute to the actor who was fondly called Yogie by his friends.

Aaron Eaton lived with his mother and younger brother James in New Addington, south London. He was earlier nominated for the Best Actor award at the International Achievement Recognition awards for his appearance in Awol – Absent Without Love. According to the London Evening Standard, he also worked as a mentor to young actors in south London, giving talks at youth clubs and working with talent agencies.

Brotherhood opened to theatres earlier this month, directed by Noel Clarke after the first two films – Kidulthood and Adulthood. A crime drama, the film is also known for its violent scenes. The film was selected to be screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.

A recent screening of the film in London ended with a knife brawl, where a man got slashed in the eye. Nevertheless, Brotherhood began with a successful run at the box office, earning  £1.98m a week after its release.
