Actor Akshay Kumar Releases His First Look From ‘Laxmmi Bomb’

Mission Mangal Movie Stills Starring Akshay Kumar

Actor Akshay Kumar, last seen in Jagan Shakti’s Mission Mangal released his first look from his next Laxmmi Bomb. Helmed by Tamil actor-choreographer Raghava Lawrence, the film is the remake of the Tamil horror Muni 2: Kanchana also directed by him. The actor will be associating with Kiara Advani for the second time after Good Newwz. Fox Star Studios will be presenting the film with Cape of Good Films, Shabinaa Entertainment, and Tusshar Entertainment House bankrolling the film.

The poster features Akshay with a big red bindi, adorned in a red saree and black blouse. He is seen to be staring into the camera with the idol of the goddess Durga behind him. The actor took to Twitter to release his first look on the occasion of Navratri.

Earlier, director Raghava Lawrence walked out of the project feeling disrespected and disappointed because the producers had released the first look poster without Lawrence’s consent. He then joined again after the controversy was sorted out and is now working on the second schedule of Laxmmi Bomb.

Muni 2: Kanchana, the original 2011 horror-comedy starred Raghava Lawrence, Sarathkumar, Rai Laxmi, Kovai Sarala, Devadarshini and Sriman. It was the story of a trans woman’s spirit that enters Raghava Lawrence’s body to seek revenge for being killed mercilessly over a land-grabbing issue. It was the second installment in the Muni franchise and the first in the Kanchana franchise.

A spokesperson for the film earlier told Silverscreen that Amitabh Bachchan was also part of the cast, reprising Sarathkumar’s role from the original film. But there has been no official announcement about this yet. The story has reportedly been modified with a strong role for Kiara, the source said. The rest of the crew is yet to be announced.

The film which has already been dubbed in Telugu and remade in Kannada, Sinhala, and Bengali, will now be remade in Hindi too. Laxmmi Bomb is slated for release on 5 June, 2020.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for Farhad Samji’s Housefull 4 which is set to release on October 25. He will also be seen in Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s Prithviraj, debutant Raj Mehta’s Good Newwz and Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi.
