Actor Arya Cast As Villain In The Great Father


Actor Arya will essay a negative role in the Malayalam film, The Great Father. Starring Mammootty and Sneha, the movie is directed by debutant  Haneef Adhani and will have music has been composed by Gopi Sundar.

The Great Father marks Arya’s third outing in Mollywood. The actor was previously seen in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Double Barrel and Urumi in 2011. According to a ToI report, a source from the team said, “Unlike the previous two movies in which he played cameos, The Great Father has him in a full-length role which is as pivotal as Mammootty’s. He is expected to join the sets by mid-September and will be on the sets for 20 days.”

The movie, a family thriller has Baby Anikha of Yennai Arindhaal fame playing an important role. The movie will be shot primarily in parts of Thrissur, Wagamon and Kochi.

This movie also marks actress Sneha’s return to the Malayalam Film Industry after a six year break. She was seen alongside Mammootty in Thuruppu GulanPramani and Vandae Maatharam in the past.

Mammootty is now finishing up his Tamil movie titled Peranbu starring actress Anjali and directed by Ram. Meanwhile, Arya, last seen in Bangalore Naatkal, is currently working on Kadamban alongside Catherine Tresa. The movie is directed by Naveen Raghavan. 

The Great Father is aiming for a Christmas release.
