Actor Prithviraj Makes Directorial Debut With Mohanlal Starrer Lucifer

Malayalam Actor Prithviraj is all set to don the director’s hat. Earlier today, the actor took to his official Twitter account to announce that he will be directing a film titled Lucifer starring Mohanlal. The script will be written by actor/writer Murali Gopy and produced by Mohanlal’s close associate Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas.

The announcement comes as a surprise to many as Prithvi recently denied reports of his directorial debut. In a Onam interview for a popular channel, the actor revealed that his hectic acting schedule meant that his directorial debut would be on hold for a while.”As an actor, I am in a very exciting phase of my career. I’m happy to say that it has been a very long time since I heard a bad script. Which is very good news, as it means we have some great talent and ideas in our industry. Moreover 90% of these scripts are from new writers, most of them who have no film background to them. I’ve done a hundred films now, I have my dates booked for the next three years so I know how long it will take me to get started on a new film. At this juncture, I think it will be difficult to set aside, say 8 months for my directorial venture. ”
