Actor Unni Mukundan who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry will be collaborating with National Award-winning filmmaker Jayaraj for his next.
Announcing the project, Mukundan in a social media post wrote, “ It’s a dream come true for me, to be joining hands with one of the most versatile directors of this country. Honoured to work with the National Award-winning director and the director of one of my personal favourite movies, Deshadanam, Shri Jayaraj sir.”
According to a report by The New Indian Express, the actor and the director earlier had plans to collaborate for one of the segments in an upcoming Malayalam anthology for Netflix. However, Mukundan could not be part of the project as he was occupied with the shoot of Jeethu Joseph’s directorial 12th Man-starring Mohanlal.
The newly announced project by Mukundan is said to be a separate feature that will be directed and produced by Jayaraj. The report added that the film’s script is an adaptation of popular Malayalam author Madhavikutty’s story called Sarkara Kondu Thulabharam. The authoris known for her short stories and autobiography. Further details about the film’s cast and crew are yet to be announced.
Mukundan, who was last seen in Bhramam, has completed shooting for two upcoming Malayalam films–Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial Bro Daddy and 12th Man, both co-starring Mohanlal.
The actor has also donned the producer’s hat for the upcoming film Meppadiyan. The family entertainer set in Erattupetta is produced under the Unni Mukundan Films banner and is written and directed by Vishnu Mohan. Mukundan will also be seen in Shafeekinte Santhosham, directed by debutant Anup Pandalam and the project will mark the actor’s second production. He also has Ek Din in the pipeline. The film revolves around the journey of the lives of a bunch of slum children and their mother. The actor will also be part of Khiladi, the upcoming Telugu action crime thriller.
