Actress Rekha Is Upset With The Memes Made Around Her Well-being

Rekha At The 'Dharmaprabhu' Audio Launch

Veteran Tamil actress Rekha known for films like Punnagai Mannan, En Bommukutty Ammavukku and Kadalora Kavithaigal is unhappy. The star who was last seen in the 2019 fantasy-comedy Dharmaprabhu, recently found an obituary meme on her. Shocked by the news, Rekha addressed the crowd assembled for the press meet of 100% Kadhal about how upsetting it was.

She reportedly found the meme on August 17th on one of the social media websites. The meme had actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan peeping into it with the line ‘Biggest Shock To The Industry’ written on it in Tamil. “I was shocked to see this. Following this, I received calls from a few actors who asked me if I’m alive. There are enough social issues which need immediate attention but certain people find happiness in spreading such fake news for the sake of money and fame,” she said.

“One cannot seek publicity. It has to be earned with hard work. I am surprised that well-educated people lack common sense,” she said. She went on to request the press to help curb such rumours and support her in her journey. She also said that the government must take severe action and curb unlicensed media channels and websites.

Rekha will next be seen in 100% Kadhal along with Thalaivasal Vijay as G.V. Prakash’s mother.
