After tasting victory with the first-ever Indian space film Tik Tik Tik, Jayam Ravi is ready with the teaser of Adanga Maru, which sees him play a cop again.
On Independence Day, the actor took to Twitter to release the teaser of this film, directed by newcomer Karthik Thangavel.

The poster promised a police drama, and the teaser builds on that. The film looks to be a total entertainer, with a tiny dose of romance too. The film’s premise is that an honest policeman can never lead a normal life.
The minute-long teaser shows scenes of the Jallikattu protests on the Marina Beach in early 2017, followed by the character played by Sampath advising Ravi to run with the others to avoid getting lost – a veiled reference that one should never be honest and straightforward. Throughout the teaser, Ravi’s character is seen being dominated by senior officials, who asks him to obey them.
However, Ravi does justice to the film’s title with a series of dialogues explaining his character – Adanga Maru, Aththu Meeru, Thimiri Ezhu, Thiruppi Adi which mean Don’t be subjugated, Cross limits, Rebel and React.
Produced by Sujatha Vijayakumar and Jayam Ravi’s brother-in-law Anand under the banner of Home Movie Makers, the film stars Raashi Khanna, Sampath, Mime Gopi and Azhagam Perumal in pivotal roles. Music is composed by CS Sam of Vikram Vedha fame, and the film is expected to hit the screens sometimes soon this year.
Ravi also has an upcoming project directed by Ahmed of Manithan fame. It is said he will team up with his brother Mohan Raja for the sequel of the 2015 blockbuster Thani Oruvan. The film saw Ravi play a diligent cop who goes after a savvy criminal (played by Arvind Swami). However, there is no official confirmation on the sequel as yet.
