“I have realised it’s not my cup of tea. This is my first and last film as a producer. I am happy being an actor. I am lazy and don’t think I am cut out to be a filmmaker. I am glad, though, that I have been credited as producer in Jagga Jasoos,” he said.

Soon after news of him turning producer did the rounds, it was speculated that he would restart his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s production company, RK Studios. Ranbir, however, admitted to being more at peace as an actor.

Jagga Jaasos was also hit by delays.”None of us knew that the film would take so much time. I think it’s everyone’s mistake and we are all to be blamed for the delay,” he said, calling the movie a “cute father-son story”.

“When dada (director Anurag Basu) and I got into a discussion almost three years ago, we realised that we don’t have specific films in India for children. So, we wanted to make one that families would enjoy. It’s a visual treat with thrilling elements.”

Speaking of children, on a recent radio show promoting his film, Ranbir joked that he is looking forward to watching Kareena Kapoor Khan’s son Taimur’s debut in cinema. “I have seen him only when he was three-months-old and there was less glow on his face. And when I saw his fresh pics on the Internet, I was like ‘woooaahh who is he.’ Taimur has got the best of both his parents. Now, we are just looking forward to him joining the films soon.”

Jagga Jasoos is slated to release on July 17.
