Aishwarya Rai has signed up to star in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s next film – Fanney Khan.
A DNA report quoted Aishwarya, “I took a break for the past five months because of personal reasons. I’m glad I did. It meant a lot for me, personally, so I didn’t have any professional meetings. I started last week and I have liked two subjects already. So, as and when, we feel the need or when the time is right, we will share the news with you.”
Reports now indicate that one of the two is Rakyesh Mehra’s.
A source told PTI, “Aishwarya is part of Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s film. It’s a drama. It’s his kind of cinema.”
Fanney Khan is supposedly based on the Hollywood film Everybody’s Famous, and will be produced by Anil Kapoor, and directed by Rakyesh. Early reports said that the makers were still to cast a female lead, even as Anil Kapoor had launched the film mid 2016, with a tweet.
