The yet-to-be-titled film was announced via social media on Wednesday. It is produced by Hamsini Entertainment and Huebox Studios.

Speaking about the film, Charles says, “It is a female-centered script. It won’t just be a comedy thriller but will also convey a message: to live life with what we have. There is no separate comedy track; we have included natural, impromptu instances of humour involving the characters and situations. There is no separate romance arc either.”

The filmmaker adds that he came up with this story after Lock Up released in August 2020. “It took me about a year and a half to work on the script.”

Charles says that he was keen on working with Aishwarya and wrote the script with the actor in mind. “The story is set against the backdrop of contemporary North Madras. Aishwarya plays a girl from that neighbourhood, who comes from an economically backward family,” he adds.

Aside from Aishwarya, the cast includes actors Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Sunil Reddy (brother of actor Vaibhav Reddy), Karunakaran, Mime Gopi, Deepa Shankar, and Redin Kingsley.

The film has gone on floors in Chennai and is set to be shot completely in the city by cinematographer Balamurugan. The shooting is expected to be wrapped up in a couple of months.

K Sarath Kumar is the film’s editor and Ravi Pandian is handling the art direction. The music composer is yet to be finalised, the director mentions.
