Ajith Kumar’s ‘Pink’ Tamil Remake Postponed; May Release In August

Shoot for Ajith Kumar’s Tamil remake of Pink might get delayed, and is likely to release in August. The film is directed by H Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame.

According to a report in a Tamil daily, the makers have completed only 30 percent of the film which began shoot last month. They planned to release the film on May 1, on the actor’s birthday, but now the release has been postponed to August 15. It is said that the makers didn’t want to shoot the film in hurry.

Meanwhile Times Of India reports that the actor who attended Sridevi’s first death anniversary ceremony in Chennai, has flown to Hyderbad for the next schedule of shoot. It is reported that scenes featuring Ajith will be shot during the next twenty days.

Produced by Boney Kapoor under his home banner Bayview Projects LLP, the film stars Ajith, Shraddha Srinath and Vidya Balan in lead, while Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Andrea Tariang, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar play pivotal roles. Msic is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography is by Nirav Shah, and editing by Gokul Chandran.

It was earlier reported that Nazriya Nazim may reprise Taapsee Pannu’s role, and Rangaraj Pandey might play Piyush Mishra, the advocate who went against Amitabh Bachchan in the original movie. Adhik Ravichandran will play one of the three main antagonists in the film.

Talking about the cast, producer Boney Kapoor in a press statement told, “It’s nice to introduce Vidya  Balan to the Tamil audience. She is paired with Ajith Kumar and  her role is a very special . Shraddha Srinath has been displaying plenty of promise and we are casting her in the pivotal role. Rangaraj Pandey plays a very important character too.”
