Actor Ajith Kumar will play a cop called Sathya Dev in his next film, his 55th. The movie, popularly referred to as Thala 55 is being directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Sathya Dev is also the working title of the movie on the sets and the final title is likely to be “either Sathya Dev or a variant that includes the name,” sources close to the project told Silverscreen.
The first schedule of the film – a Chennai-centric thriller – was completed in 12 days. Shooting is expected to resume on May 14 and the second schedule will also be shot outdoors in Chennai at night. A M Rathnam produces the movie and Anushka Shetty plays the heroine. Arun Vijay will be seen in a role negative shades with Vivek providing some comic relief.
