After his proposed films with directors Vamshi Paidipally and Hanu Raghavapudi fell through, actor Akhil Akkineni’s next film will go on floors in January next year. A report in Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying, “Nagarjuna and Vikram have discussed the subject and the director has sought time till December to deliver a complete and bound script. Nagarjuna suggested a few modifications and they are now confident.”
Director Vikram Kumar last directed 24 with Suriya, Samantha and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. Vikram, who shares a rapport with the Akkineni family, had directed Manam, a Telugu drama which starred Nagarjuna, Nageswar Rao and Naga Chaithanya, in 2014. Akhil and his mother, Amala, had made cameo appearances in the film, which was produced by Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios.
Vikram Kumar, who got married recently, is currently finishing the script in Hyderabad, after which a formal announcement about the project will be made. It is also reported that a debutante will play the female lead. Akhil’s debut film Akhil- The Power of Jua, released last November and was panned by critics and audiences.

Meanwhile, there have also been reports that the 22-year-old actor will soon be married to his girlfriend Shriya Bhupal. Bhupal is a Hyderabad-based designer, known for her label Shriya Som. Recently, Akhil had brushed off the rumours saying “”You have heard that I am engaged? No, that is untrue. I am not yet engaged. All I’ve done is, introduced the girl that I’m seeing to my parents. That’s all.”
