Akshay Kumar Finally Responds To Controversy Over His National Award Win

Akshay Kumar has a fairly simple solution in mind for the controversy surrounding his recent National Award win. The actor won the award for his performance in Rustom. A section of the media and film fraternity had also slammed the National Award jury for its ‘biased decision’.

The actor finally responded to the issue at a recent event, and said

“I have been working in the film industry for the last 25 years and I have noticed that every time whoever wins a National Award, the debate starts on who is deserving to win the award. I got it after 25 years. If you think I don’t deserve it, you can take it away.”

The actor was at the launch of an insurance scheme for stunt performers when he made these comments.

Meanwhile, Akshay has bagged lead roles in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Padman and Crack. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is scheduled to release soon, while Padman and Crack are looking at a 2018 release date.
