Manushi Chhillar Joins the Sets of Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj

Debutante actor Manushi Chhillar has joined the sets of Akshay Kumar‘s next titled Prithviraj, YRF announced on Friday. The film is being directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

The director had previously confirmed to Mid-Day about Kumar joining the sets of the film after Bell Bottom, which had recently wrapped up its shooting. Prithviraj will be the actor’s second film which is being shot during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A source revealed to the daily that Sonu Sood will also be a part of this 15-day schedule shoot.

Prithviraj will see Kumar pair up with Miss World 2017 winner Manushi, who as per a source revealed to Mid-Day will be seen playing Kumar’s love interest Sanyogita.

Prithviraj, announced in 2019, was slated for a Diwali release this year. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, who is reportedly going to shoot for his parts in December.

Meanwhile, Kumar is looking forward to his film Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty. It was announced in June that the film was set for a Diwali release but was pushed after the lockdown forced cinema halls to close. Although theatres are set to reopen from October 15, producers of big-ticket films have been wary of releasing their films so early as fears of crowding and closed spaces still remain strong among moviegoers.

Talking to Mid-Day, Shibasish Sarkar, chief executive officer of the Reliance Entertainment group, said that the release date was yet to be locked but the film is expected to release between January and March.

Sooryavanshi is a cop drama that is presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. The film will see Katrina Kaif playing the female lead. Actors Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn will also be seen making appearances in the same.

Kumar also has Bachchan Pandey, Atrangi Re and Raksha Bandhan in his list of upcoming projects. His Lakshmi Bomb is releasing on Disney Plus Hotstar on November 9, ahead of Diwali.
