Allu Arjun’s next film with Harish Shankar has been titled Dhuvvada Jagannatham. The title refers to the name of the central character in the film and is director Harish Shankar’s third consecutive project with producer Dil Raju. According to reports, actress Kajal Aggarwal has been approached to play the female lead in the project.
The film was launched on Monday in Hyderabad with a special pooja. Arjun’s father Allu Aravind helped film the first shot while producer Shyam Prasad Reddy switched on the camera. Director VV Vinayak directed the first shot.
The director also added that the film will release in the summer of 2017. Shooting will begin in September-end or mid-October. “Major part of the shoot will take place in Hyderabad. We are planning to go to Hong Kong for 10 days.” he said. Deepak Raj, who worked with Harish Shankar in his 2011 film Mirapakay, will co-write the screenplay with Ramesh Reddy.
Ayananka Bose, who choreographed Bollwyood films like Umrao Jaan, Kites, Kick and Dishoom, has been tasked with choreographing the songs; while Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose the music. Casting for the supporting roles is still underway.
Interestingly, Allu Arjun had announced films with directors Lingusamy and Vikram Kumar earlier this year. Neither materialised and both directors have now gone on to pursue other projects.
