Sources close to Allu Arjun told Silverscreen that a confirmation cannot be given yet. The actor has a huge fan base among Hindi audiences, and his Telugu films dubbed in Hindi have also done well.
Allu Arjun is currently shooting for director Trivikram’s Ala Vaikunthapuramlo, co-starring Murali Sharma reportedly in the lead as his father. The film is said to be about a father-son’s relationship. Pooja Hedge plays the female lead, and Tabu, who has an important role, reportedly plays his mother. Ala Vaikunthapuramlo marks Tabu’s return to Telugu cinema after two years.
Allu Arjun shared pictures of the launch in April. The film marks his third collaboration with Trivikram after Julayi and S/O Sathyamurty.
The second schedule of the film started in June when Nivetha Pethuraj and Sushanth also came on board. The film’s cast includes Navdeep, Jayaram, Sathyaraj, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, among others.
There are reports that the story is based on the Hollywood film The Invention of Lying. This is yet to be confirmed. The film is scheduled to release during Sankranti next year.
Allu Arjun, who was last seen in Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India, has also signed up for a film with director Sukumar, and for Icon with Venu Sriram. It was speculated that Alia Bhatt would star opposite him in Icon, but a report by Pinkvilla says that Alia Bhatt has a busy schedule and Disha Patani is now on board. Both the films are in pre-production stages and are likely begin shoot later this year.
