Amitabh Bachchan’s Jhund With Director Nagraj Manjule To Go On Floors In August

Amitabh Bachchan will begin shooting for Jhund from August this year. The film tells the story of Vijay Barse, a retired teacher in Nagpur, who took it upon himself to teach slum kids the game of football.

Bachchan is expected to meet Barse in Nagpur soon to prepare for his role. The film was announced late last year. Sairat fame Nagraj Manjule was attached to direct the biopic. Reports indicate that the project faced several delays. As a result, Bachchan is said to have walked away from the film. Bhushan Kumar, head of T-Series, stepped in to finance the film recently. He reportedly convinced Bachchan to come back to the project. The project marks Manjule’s Hindi film debut.

Meanwhile, Bachchan announced recently that he will donate Rs 2 crores towards the welfare of the widows of Indian Army Officers and farmers. The actor has reportedly brought together a team of people to find authentic organisations which will make sure that the money will reach the people it is intended for.
