The film Prasthanam is considered a benchmark film for Telugu cinema. Now, the film is set to go to Bollywood with Amyra Dastur set to play the female lead in the new film, that is being directed by Deva Katta, who had also directed the original.

“Amyra loved the political theme of the film and was happy to be on board since she has done nothing like this in the past. She liked how her character was tweaked and reworked for the Hindi version and immediately agreed to do the film,” shares a source.

The film, which is being co-produced by Sanjay Dutt himself will go on floors soon. Sooraj Pancholi will reprise Sharwanand’s role, while Sanjay will take on the mantle of Sai Kumar’s critically acclaimed performance in the original. Only time will tell if Deva will manage to recreate the magic of the Telugu film in Hindi.
