Batman: Caped Crusader will be executive produced by filmmakers Bruce Timm, JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves. The series will be produced under the banners Warner Bros Animation, Bad Robot Productions and  6th & Idaho.

Batman: Caped Crusader marks the return of Timm, who co-created the Emmy Award-winning  Batman: The Animated Series in 1992.  He had also written the screenplay for Batman and Harley Quinn in 2017.

Global Kids, said in the statement that the executive producers would reinvent Batman and his iconic rogue’s gallery by utilising state-of-the-art animation techniques and technologies in the new series.

Timm, Abrams and Reeves said in the statement that they would dive deeper into the psychology of the iconic characters and added that it will also revive Batman’s noir roots with engrossing new stories in Gotham city.

Reeves had collaborated with Robert Pattinson in The Batman, which is expected to release in 2022. The film’s shooting was wrapped on March 13.  Produced by DC films, the film is a reboot of the Batman film franchise.
